So you’re getting married and have decided to surprise your husband with bridal boudoir! It’s a great gift, especially on your wedding day. You can sneak into his pocket a tiny album for his eyes only if you so dare!
Here’s some tips and suggestions to make the day run extra smoothly before your boudoir session.
The day of the session, wear sweats and a t-shirt. You want to avoid the dreaded bra and underwear lines. If you need a little extra support, wear a sports bra. Once the space is setup (whether it’s in studio or at your house) then get dressed for the Boudoir Session.
If the photography session is in your home, make sure there’s ample space for lighting, backdrops, etc. If we’re doing a session using the comforts of your home (your bed and living space) be sure to have the place tidy because little details may make their way into your photographs.
Solid bedspreads are usually preferred. If you have a comforter with a print, you may just be able to flip it over. A feather bed may also work nice for a solid white look and offer a little bit more of a fluffy design.
If the session is in your home, make sure the thermostat is set between 70-72F about an hour or two before we start our session. You don’t want goosebumps when you’re in your lingerie!
Go out and buy yourself something nice to wear. Treat yourself special because you deserve it. You will have time for a wardrobe change so if there’s something you’d like to try on a little different–go for it! Be creative and more importantly have fun.
Make sure you have a cute pair of heels (or maybe even boots) for the photography session. You won’t have to walk around in them very much, but they will look great for posing. Barefoot photos can look great too.
Necklaces, pearls, engagement rings all add a little extra flair to your photos–especially if you’re wearing that necklace or ring your husband (to be) gave you!
Garters and thigh highs can look sexy. Do you have a favorite sports team? Don’t forget to bring that jersey or perhaps your husband to be’s work uniform.
Not sure what to wear? That’s okay! Show it all to your photographer and I would be happy to help you choose what will look best. Only have mix-matched colors in lingerie? No problem! It can all be fixed in post production.
Don’t be afraid to be playful, smile and more importantly have fun!
